Former lawyer Maxine Bédat made the switch from a legal career to one devoted to sustainable fashion after becoming aware of the effect that the fashion industry has on the environment. The industry is the second most polluting on the planet and is responsible for 10 percent of the world’s carbon emissions. To combat these effects Bédat co-founded Zady, an e-commerce fashion site for sustainable and environmentally friendly clothing. Zady has even went on to create a step-by-step model for how clothing companies can produce their own truly sustainable garments and understand the full supply chain.
