The billionaire entrepreneur and Virgin founder has had his fingers in countless pies throughout the course of his business career, and recently he has been doing so with an environmental conscience. Richard Branson is aware of the huge negative impact the meat industry has on the environment, and believes that future generations will look back upon this time of killing animals for food as strange and barbaric. Branson believes instead that the future lies in lab-grown meat. To this end, in 2017 he has thrown his investment muscle behind Memphis Meats, who are pioneering ways to grow meat without animals. If Branson’s investment can help take this concept to mass production and the mainstream then the reduction of carbon emissions will be huge. To top it off, he’s now the CEO of Hyperloop (since December 2017).
